Living In a House We Built

Photos that showcase how our house looks, & how it came to be.

A picture of a cluttered, metal shelf & old, wooden bureau. On the shelf there are three Antiquarian Sticker Books, a Goosebumps book, a couple of X-Files books, The Hitchhiker's Guide to The galaxy, The Devil's Dictionary, & multiple journals of various shapes. There is also plenty of yarn for making projects, & a thermal printer for selling those projects. A home-crocheted black bag with a white X is hanging from the shelf. On the wall there are multiple tarot posters/hangings, clippings from magazines featuring old New England architecture/industry, a calendar, & paintings from a local artist. A metal detector leans against the wall. The bureau is completely covered in crafting supplies, toys, nail polish, Brita water filter, & Altoids tins. A hyper-realistic baby hippo statue lurks in the shadows. A picture of a gorgeous, green-haired man sitting with his hands between his thighs. He has just finished putting in the flooring around him. He is wearing a brown shirt, brown kneehigh socks over fishnets, black leather boots, & black shorts with a chain hanging from the belt loops. A green, dinosaur-themed water bottle is holding open the door to let in a stream of sunlight, perfectly perpendicular to the man's legs. Various building supplies & tools are around him; scraps of flooring, a yellow utility knife, a speed-square, an adjustable wrecking bar, & broom with dustpan. A beautiful photo. A picture of a cluttered bureau & corkboard. On the bureau today is a VCR and CRT television, a beeswax spiral timer candle, a moon shaped lamp we got from a turkish man, and 4 VHS tapes; namely The X Files, Apollo 13, Batman Forever, & Men In Black. Hanging from a string of lights along the top of the corkboard are 4 Polaroids; A picture of 2 build-a-bear dolls holding hands in front of a bookshelf, A picture of a beautiful man in a green jacket & black mask, a picture of a blind cat, & a completely black mis-fire picture with silver ghost stickers stuck on. Also hanging from this string are a 3' Stanley mini measuring tape & little yellow crocheted star. On the corkboard are clippings from magazines featuring forests, topiary, frogs, & science articles. One is titled "A Chance To Become a Fish." Stuck into the top are Pokemon cards from Halloween packs. There are pins for Farmington Fright Fest, & a lime-green lanyard for the same. There are many more pins, mostly being pride flags; Transgender, Non-Binary, Asexual, & Bisexual. There is also a feather & authentic USSR shoulder patch. On the wall above is a decades-old custom name plate for a childs bicycle with the name 'Leland' in peeling stickers. There is a lobster on the plate, as this is Maine.
